Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Thursday organized a seminar to apprise its students about the emerging technologies that could benefit their students to produce quality research work, compatible to international standard.
ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 12th Jul, 2018 ) :Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) Thursday organized a seminar to apprise its students about the emerging technologies that could benefit their students to produce quality research work, compatible to international standard.
The event was the part of the University's regular activities to bring about qualitative improvement in the academic pursuits.
Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Shahid Siddiqui in his message on the occasion said, the University is promoting smart use of new technology at every level to help the students to do the best in their respective discipline.
He hoped that the seminar will help the students to improve learning practices and enable them to meet new challenges. He underlined the importance of quality education and the important role of the youth in the country's socio-economic development.
Eminent resource persons Jamal Zafar and Salman Sattar Shah from IT Industry highlighted the worth and utility of the new and emerging technologies and brief the students about their proper use.
They highlighted that the concept of "Internet of Things" (IoTs) will take us to an environment which will be a part of a global nervous system that will work beyond the direct connection.
� The IOT enables the physical objects to share and exchange data,creating opportunities for more direct integration of the physical world into computer-based systems, resulting in efficiency improvements, economic benefits, and reduced human exertions.
According to Dr Moiz Uddin Siddiqui, Head, Department of Computer Sciences, the seminar�especially focused on internet of Things�which is a network of physical devices connected via Internet.�The students and faculty members were also highlighted various research and development activities in IoT domain, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
The seminar was organized by Department of Computer Science and it was attended by faculty members and students of AIOU from all over the country.
