Imperial College London Diabetes Centre appoints new CEO

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 10th Jul, 2018) Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, ICLDC, an outpatient facility for diabetes treatment, prevention, education and research, and part of Mubadala’s network of healthcare providers, has announced the appointment of Lawrence Patrick as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Lawrence Patrick has joined from Johns Hopkins Medicine, where he led its Southeast Asia and Asia Pacific regions, serving as CEO of its Singapore facility and its Multi-Specialty Centre in Tokyo. With 20 years of experience in healthcare, his areas of expertise include continuous quality improvement, patient satisfaction initiatives, and facility planning and development.

Speaking on the appointment, Abdulla Al Shamsi, Head of Mubadala Healthcare, said, "As we have initiated a deeper integration of service lines across our healthcare providers and physician practices, there is today a greater focus on quality than ever before. Through bringing on board world-class leaders with successful track records and in-depth expertise across the healthcare sector, we are confident we will continue to make a significant contribution to building a strong foundation of specialist healthcare in the UAE."

In turn, Patrick expressed his delight to work with such a medical facility and said that he and his team will work towards reducing the prevalence of diabetes through enhancing the centre’s research, education and patient care competencies.
