Nadia Hussain initiates #wokeupthiswaychallenge, gets bullied and hits back

The was bullied for posting the picture without makeup but she had a stronger reply to it

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 9th July, 2018) Renowned Pakistani model Nadia Hussain has launched a woke up this way challenge, posting her selfie without makeup or filters.

Nadia Hussain started the woke up this way challenge to help support the journey back to realness with no filter, no makeup and no hair product.

In her recent post, the top model used the hashtag #wokeupthiswaychallenge to bring some realness to social media and destroy the ever-growing perception of perfection behind the screens.

“Social media is a powerful tool where you’re in charge of WHAT/WHEN/WHERE/HOW you want to present yourself to the world. And of course we all want to present perfection - who doesn’t love a good filter?? But why do we think posting our authentic, real self is somehow not ❤️-able enough? It’s time to wake up. Your true YOU is 💥🙌🏽💣🔥🖤!!! Today I post this pic in favor of #WokeUpThisWayChallenge & bring some realness back to social media. And now I’m asking YOU to be part of this challenge too and bring awareness and spread this much-needed conversation around the world. Let’s unite and do this altogether!” Nadia Hussain wrote on her Instagram as she posted her no makeup and no filter selfie.

The model nominated fellow women in the industry to continue with the challenge, including Mawra Hocane, Mahira Khan, Sajal Aly and Ayesha Omar.

However, she was greatly bullied for posting this picture, as people called out the model for being a makeup and screen beauty only.

Nadia, however, had a stronger reply to this.

“So pathetic to see!!! Yes it's true WOMEN PULL DOWN OTHER WOMEN!!! #saynotocyberbullying,” she said while sharing some of the comments she received on her previous picture.

Later, she shared a screenshot of the message she received by a girl who went through an emotional breakdown for losing her beauty after having a baby.

Nadia Hussain was happy to have given power to the ones who truly felt depressed about their looks.

She said that looks are only one part of our beauty but actual beauty is what we are made of in terms of intellect, hard work, personality and above all a positive attitude.

“Having been in the beauty industry for almost two decades, I can truly say that I've seen BEAUTIFUL stars rise and fall, but what has remained in people's minds are only their inner aura!!! There are no beauty standards!!! EVERYONE IS BEAUTIFUL!!! Be true to yourself!! 💥 this does not mean in any way that I'm going against the use of filters or makeup or whatever!! It's only a small msg to people that yes we are all humans with flaws!! It's OK to live with it and be powerful!!!” the model said.

More power to Nadia for taking this challenge and unveiling her inner beauty!
