Civil Society For Regulatory Body To Look Into Wages Issues Of Women Brick Klin Workers

Representatives of civil society have demanded of the concerned quarters to set up a regulatory body to look after wages issues of women working at brick Klin, as presently there is no such mechanism to address their issues.

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 4th Jul, 2018 ) :Representatives of civil society have demanded of the concerned quarters to set up a regulatory body to look after wages issues of women working at brick Klin, as presently there is no such mechanism to address their issues.

Civil Society activist proposed that under the regulatory authority the brick klin issues can be resolved more efficiently, adding that�a recent survey revealed that they face plenty of challenges while perfuming their duties specially issue of non-payment of their dues but remain silent as owners are hesitate to pay fully.

They continue to work for long on very low wages but have to continue their work as there is no other option except to work to feed their family.

Doctor �Maliha a social Activist said that as the government of Punjab has fixed wages for brick klin workers the sum of 1036 but still employees get no more than 400 per day.

She said that "as government has fixed the amount of wages, but they should ensure that industry is following the laws".

She said some of the businessmen are involved, who were earning huge profits from brick industry but they don't pay employees their wages fixed by the government.

She urged to proper implementation of existing laws that protected the rights of women workers at brick klin while demanded more effective laws for their protection and safety. He said that there should be a regulatory body to resolve the issues of domestic workers also.
