Zafar Ali Shah to play an active role in Imran Khan’s election campaign in NA-53
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th July, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) founding member Zafar Ali Shah left his party and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Zafar’s joining in the PTI has raised many questions and the most important of them all is who agreed him to leave the PMLN.
According to a news report published in a local newspaper, PTI chairman Imran Khan’s close friend Zulfi Bukhari convinced his father-in-law Zafar Ali Shah to join the PTI.
Bukhari reportedly played an important role in Zafar’s joining in the PTI. A ceremony in this regard will be held at Zafar’s place which will be attended by Imran Khan. Sources said that Zulfi Bukhari’s father-in-law Zafar Ali Shah was at odds with the PMLN leadership for quite some time.
After joining the PTI, Zafar will play an active role in Imran Khan’s election campaign in NA-53. The PTI chairman has replaced Asad Umar with Zulfi Bukhari to oversee his election campaign in Islamabad. Zafar’s departure from the PMLN is not being hailed as a good omen.
Several PMLN leaders have left the party over differences with Nawaz Sharif’s policies.
Zafar Ali Shah had differences with the party leadership which were evident in his comments on various tv shows.
