Army has no plans to impose martial law: Dr Shahid Masood

Says the Supreme Court will also not protect any unconstitutional move

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 3rd July, 2018) Renowned journalist Dr Shahid Masood while talking on a tv program has said that the army does not want to impose a martial law.

He said that the army does not want to impose a martial law in any case as they are repeatedly opposing it while the Supreme Court will also not protect any unconstitutional move.

About the protest and law and order situation created during Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s visit to Lyari, Dr Shahid Masood said that the people of Lyari have their reservations.

It is true that no development work was carried out in Lyari. Those who had parted ways with Benazir Bhutto found better opportunities but those who stuck with the party were snubbed.

The security of Bilawal has almost ended as he reached Lyari following which, stones were thrown at him. The incident shocked everyone while no arrangements were made ahead of his visit to the area. The question that arises is that how Bilawal was brought there. Benazir had her own security and so does Asif Ali Zardari then how come Bilawal was without any security there. People came so close to his car that remained stuck there for 40 minutes.
