ISLAMABAD, Jul 1 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 1st Jul, 2018 ) :Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) senior leader Asad Umar Sunday claimed that due to negligence shown by the past governments during previous decade, the water crises have gone downhill in the Federal capital and the sector needed urgent steps to work out the matter.
Asad Umar who is contesting election for National Assembly constituency of Islamabad NA-54 said if PTI formed government, it would immediately take steps to work on a mega water project for Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) to provide 10 million gallons water daily to the residents of ICT.
He questioned former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi who is also candidate from a constituency of ICT, that being prime minster what steps he took for the capital's water, education, and health issues.
Addressing a press conference here, the PTI leader said resolving water, health, and education issues of the federal capital would be his top priority.
"If PTI forms the government after winning general election 2018, the expected Prime Minister and Finance Minister both will be elected members of ICT constituencies, so Islamabad will get full attention of the government and it will get its due right," Asad Umar hoped.
He said he would also help establishing one state-of-the-art hospital in rural areas of ICT while extension of PIMS hospital would also be ensured.
Moreover, he said the capital's solid waste management system would also be given due attention, while a graveyard in rural areas of ICT would also be built.
To a question regarding hike in petroleum prices by the caretaker government, Asad Umar attributed the increase to failed economic policies of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, saying that due to their miscarried policies, foreign reserves depleted sharply, while country's debt burden soared to new heights which caused huge rupee devaluation.
Addressing on the occasion, Pakistan Muslim League (Q) leader Rizwan Sadiq announced to support PTI on all the three Constituencies of ICT sating "We will support PTI across the country as well and will help it winning the upcoming general election".
President Markazi Anjuman Tajiran, Ajmal Baloch also announced to join PTI and said that Pakistan Muslim League (N) had made false pledges with the business community therefore, the whole business community of ICT was not happy with the PML-N.
Asad Umar said during previous five years, the business community was disappointed from the economic policies of PML-N.
He said after assuming charge of Prime Minister, Imran Khan would retain direct contact with the business community to address their issues.
