The family of injured is being pressured to bury the matter

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 27th June, 2018) A youth was injured as the car of a Chinese national hit him in the Federal capital on Wednesday.

According to details, 24-year-old motorist Zohaib was injured after being hit by the car of a Chinese national at Kohsar Road in Sector F-7. The injured was shifted to hospital for treatment.

The Kohsar police arrested the Chinese national besides taking his car in custody. Several Chinese friends went to Kohsar police station to rescue the Chinese man involved in the accident.

According to reports, the Chinese national involved in the accident is young and does not even have a driving license. Sources said that Zohaib’s brother is being pressured to bury the matter. They are being advised to avoid legal action against the Chinese national after taking a compensation for Zohaib’s treatment.

Last week, the car of a Japanese diplomat hit a motorcycle in Lahore. According to media reports, the motorist was injured as a Japanese diplomat’s car hit him near Jain Mandar area of the city. The injured citizen was shifted to the hospital for treatment.

Earlier in April, the vehicle of Colonel Joseph, a defence attach at the US embassy in Islamabad, ran a red light and rammed into a motorcycle in the federal capital, killing one man, Ateeq Baig, on the spot and injuring another.

The diplomat was let go by police after registration of a case.

On April 20, the government decided to not place the name of Colonel Joseph on the Exit Control List. The father of the deceased youth had moved the IHC to order placement of Colonel Joseph's name on the ECL. He had taken the stance that Colonel Joseph, while intoxicated, hit his son and he died on the spot.

The IHC referred the matter to the Interior Ministry but eventually, the US diplomat was allowed to leave the country in a US army plane.
