H.E. Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi theChairman of the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA)appointed by decree issued byHH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi in February 2017.

Hamad Al Hurr Al Suwaidi theChairman of the Abu Dhabi Accountability Authority (ADAA)appointed by decree issued byHH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi in February 2017. H.E.Al Suwaidi oversees theimplementation of ADAA’svision and strategies, which aim to enhance accountability and transparency across all Abu Dhabi government and public entities. HE also ensures that the management, collection and disbursement of funds and resources to these entities are carried out efficiently, effectively and economically,and assures the validity of financial reports and the compliance of the entities with the laws, regulations and rules of governance.

In a career spanning more than 20 yearsH.E. Al Suwaidiserved in a senior posts in Abu Dhabi, most recently as a member of the Executive Council of Abu Dhabi between 2005 and 2016.In 2004, he was appointed Undersecretary of the Department of Finance, and in 2010 becameits Chairman until 2016. He was instrumental in developing the strategic vision of the Department of Finance to serve asthe financial arm of theGovernment of Abu Dhabi, formulating prudent financial policy and an integrated and effective financial management systemto provide and sustain financial resources and realize the Strategic Plan of the Abu Dhabi Government. H.E. Al Suwaidi has served on the boards of prominent government companies and institutions, including the Supreme Petroleum Council, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Mubadala Development Company, the International Petroleum Investment Company (IPIC), the food Control Authority, Etisalat, the Securities and Commodities Authority and the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority. He has also served as Chairman of TAQA and the Abu Dhabi Civil Service Council. H.E. Al Suwaidi holds an Master of business Administration from the California State University in San Bernardino, and a Bachelor of Business Administration BA from the Dominican University of California.
