Al Bayt Mitwahid Association and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, ADEK, have announced the finalists of their long running art and illustrative competition 'My Morals My Identity',

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 24th Jun, 2018) Al Bayt Mitwahid Association and the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge, ADEK, have announced the finalists of their long running art and illustrative competition 'My Morals My Identity', a competition which was inspired by the moral education programme in the UAE.

The 32 finalists selected from 600 artwork entries are featured in an art exhibition at Manarat Al Saadiyat until the 28th of June.

The artworks were judged based on creativity of three core values: solidarity, tolerance and the valuing of heritage. The competition encouraged groups of students in grades 2 to 5 to work together and create pieces of illustrative and literary art, with the aim of enhancing the spirit of belonging and national identity, whilst emphasising the importance of moral education.

Speaking about the competition, Saif Ali Al Qubaisi, Chairman of Al Bayt Mitwahid Association, said, "In alignment with the UAE’s leadership’s directive for education, we created the My Morals My Identity competition as it supports the current curriculum’s programme that ADEK are implementing in order to advance the level of moral education in our country’s schools. Al Bayt Mitwahid and ADEK saw the competition as a great way to engage in dialogue with the students, and truly find out what they’ve learnt. The response to My Morals My Identity has been overwhelming, and I can honestly say that I’m proud of every participating student".

In turn, Dr. Maryam Al Ali, ADEK’s school Improvement Division Manager, said that the competition aligns with ADEK’s programmes and policies to promote students understanding and knowledge of UAE identity, culture, heritage and history.

The competition was developed to further enhance the contribution of schools, and society at large, in supporting the development of creativity among students, while offering them the opportunity to showcase their artistic talents and be featured in an art exhibition.
