National Softball Academy To Hold Sports Festival As Part Of World Softball Day Celebrations

National Softball Academy (NSA) will hold a sports festival for both men and women players of the game here on June 26 to mark World Softball Day 2018.
KARACHI, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 23rd Jun, 2018 ) :National Softball Academy (NSA) will hold a sports festival for both men and women players of the game here on June 26 to mark World Softball Day 2018.
Officials sharing details of the event here during logo launching ceremony of the academy said event would be mainly focused on improving the infrastructure for the game.
Sindh Secretary for Sports and Youth Affairs, Dr. Niaz Abbasi responding to media queries said local youth hold all capacities and competence to compete in international level events.
"It is our responsibility to provide them a congenial atmosphere and quality infrastructure comprising world standard playing field as well as relevant assistance," he said.
The senior government official and a proponent of sports activities across the province said the world softball day 2018 event would be utilized as a catalyst to streamline easy accessibility of local players to quality facilities.
Abbasi said supporters of sports pertaining to private sector could also be taken on board with equal attention towards active involvement of sportsmen in the campaign.
Director, National Softball Academy, Mohammad Nasir said academy has been providing needed training to the young players in the sphere of basic technique as well as physical fitness.
"Special efforts are also being made to introduce young players to constant changes and modifications being registered in the game played at international level," he said.
Nasir said the academy in collaboration with softball federation also plans to send talented players abroad so as to polish their playing skills and capacities.
Secretary General of Softball Federation of Pakistan, Asif Azeem, Secretary General, Sindh Olympics Association, Ahmed Ali Rajput andother were also present on the occasion.
