Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, said that the Kalba-based Al Sharqiya TV reflects the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the role of the media, through television channels that showcase the heritage and history of Sharjah’s Eastern Region.
SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 22nd Jun, 2018) Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Media Council, said that the Kalba-based Al Sharqiya tv reflects the vision of H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to promote the role of the media, through television channels that showcase the heritage and history of Sharjah’s Eastern Region.
He added that Al Sharqiya TV is an important part of the media, as well as the heritage and culture that Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed is keen to highlight, due to its role in bringing society and the family together and enriching the public’s knowledge.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed made this statement during his visit, on Thursday, to Al Sharqiya TV, where he learned about the channel’s heritage and community programmes.
During the visit, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was accompanied by Dr. Khalid Omar Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Media City, Shams, Mohammed Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Media Corporation, Tariq Saeed Allay, Director of the Sharjah Government Media Bureau, and Yaqoub Al Mansouri, Secretary-General of the Sharjah Media Council.
While touring Al Sharqiya TV, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed learned about its various medical, women’s, historic, religious and recreational programmes while stressing that the channel has a unique approach to discussing the issues of the Eastern Region’s community and aims to find solutions to these issues, in cooperation with government agencies.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed was also briefed about the work of various engineering, production, selection, assessment and content departments, which work together to produce quality television programmes.
While meeting with media cadres during his tour, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed praised their efforts while noting that the channel's productions add to the public's awareness of the Eastern Region and its diverse culture and heritage.
Before leaving the television station, Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed emphasised the importance of quality media work and his desire to continue its improvement, based on the directives and vision of Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed.
