Abu Dhabi Radio, Security Media Administration launch "For Your Safety" initiative

The Abu Dhabi Radio and the Security Media Administration of the Commandship Affairs Sector of the Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, launched a new radio initiative, under the slogan, "For Your Safety," coinciding with the Year of Zayed

ABU DHABI, (Pakistan Point News - 21st Jun, 2018) The Abu Dhabi Radio and the Security Media Administration of the Commandship Affairs Sector of the Abu Dhabi Police, ADP, launched a new radio initiative, under the slogan, "For Your Safety," coinciding with the Year of Zayed.

The initiative is part of the efforts of the ADP General Command to promote the values of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and implement the strategy of the Year of Zayed, with the aim of promoting wisdom, respect, social cohesion and sustainability.

Colonel Mohammed Ali Al Muhairi, Director of the Security Media Administration, said that daily radio shows will be broadcast via Emarat FM programmes, to raise awareness about various social issues, such as the dangers of drugs, as well as to promote traffic laws and raise awareness about negative behaviours.

He also highlighted the importance of the radio in promoting the culture of prevention, safety and community protection against crime while noting that Emarat FM is one of most popular radio channels among listeners.

He also pointed out that the radio messages will be recorded in coordination with police departments and with the voices of specialist officers and officials, to promote communication between the public and the police, and raise the community’s awareness about the best methods of addressing traffic, fires and emergencies.

Major Hamdan Hamoud Al Derai, Director of Radio at the Security Media Administration, stated that many police employees recorded the radio messages, which will be broadcast throughout the year, including from the General Civil Defence Administration in Abu Dhabi, as well as from the emergency, public safety, traffic, patrols, medical services, criminal investigations, drug control, social support and community police departments.

He added that the radio messages include various topics, such as the rules of safe driving, the ideal use of fire extinguishers, rescuing those who are drowning, evacuation in cases of emergencies, vehicle inspection and safety requirements, and treating suffocating children.
