KOHAT, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2018 ) :Former Governor Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah is emerging as strong candidate for PK-82 and NA-32 after many notables and influential families have announced their support in his favour in the forthcoming elections.
The election campaign of Syed Ifikhar Hussain Shah is in full swing as an independent candidate and posing a serious challenges to all his rival candidates.
After denial of Pakistan Tehree-e-Insaf ticket, Syed Iftikhar Hussan Shah on the request of notables of Kohat is contesting elections as independent candidate and now considered a strong candidate in the run up for provincial and national assembly seat.
At the initial stage of his election campaign, Iftikhar Hussain Shah is visiting Hujras of notables and influential political families who have already announced their support to him in upcoming elections.
Prominent notables who have announced their allegiance to Iftikhar Hussain Shah include Chief of Miankhel clan Syed Abid Hussain Shah, Haji Manzoor Paracha of Paracha famly, Haji Matiullah Shanwari, Pir Ghalib Shah, Pir Asadullah Shah, former MPA Pir Sanaullah Shah, renowed social worker of Jangalkhel Haji Javed islam Qureshi, Syed Fiaq Ali Shah and many others yet to announce formally by organizing joining ceremonies in their respective areas.
It may be recalled that PTI has given National Assembly ticket to Shahyar Afridi and PK 82 provincial assembly ticket to Ziaullah Bangash but overwhelming majority of the party's workers are not happy over the decision and they announced to support Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah as independent candidate.
District Councilor Sajid Iqbal , Major Farooq, Zaman Shinwari, Tehsil Councilor Tahir Nabi and Malik Nabi and District Councilor Mir Wais have also announced their support to Syed Iftikhar Hussain Shah after a detailed meeting.
As the elections' campaign of Iftikhar Shah is gaining momentum day by day, it is more worrying factor to other candidates especially to provincial assembly candidate of PTI Ziaullah Bangash and National Assembly ticket holder Shahyar Afridi.
Keeping in view rifts within local PTI leadership on award of tickets and many dissidents already throw their weight behind Iftikhar Hussain Shah, it is believed that PTI vote bank will shrink considerably as compared to 2103 elections.
Many local pundits are of the opinion that rivalry with in PTI ranks will favour Muttahida Majlis e Amal candidate Gohar Muhammad Khan and AbbasAfridi of Pakistan Muslim League in the national assembly seat and Qalb Hassanof MMA on the PK-82 provincial seat.
