More than 300,000 tourists arrived in Kaghan, Naran during Eid holidays

KAGHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 20th Jun, 2018 ) :An estimated 300,000 tourists entered during eid holidays to enjoy scenic beauty of various tourists destinations the region.

According to Manshera Traffic Police, this time elaborative traffic arrangements were made to facilitate expected hundreds of thousands tourists coming to Kaghan, Naran, Shogran, Jalkhad and Babusar Top for recreational purpose on Eid vacations.

Despite the heavy rain forecast in Kaghan, Naran for upcoming days of the week, a large number of tourists have reached during the Eid-ul-Fitr vacations in Kaghan valley.

While talking to APP, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mansehra, Arif Javed said till the third day of Eid more than 60,000 vehicles have entered in Kaghan and Shogran valleys.The inflow of tourists was continued, up till now more than 300,000 tourists have reached in Kaghan valley, he added.

He disclosed that during the current season two million domestic tourists are expected to visit Naran, Kaghan and Shogran while last year on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr entry of about 3,50,000 vehicles and more than 1.6 million tourists were recorded.

Arif Javed further said around 850 policemen have been deployed on around Mansehra Naran Jalkhad Challas Road (MNJC) those have maintained law and order situation and also controlled the traffic flow.

"Besides the regular police force deployment, 16 heavy motorcycle riders are monitoring the traffic situation, heavy machinery, recovery van and mobile workshop, additional 4 fork lifter, 50 tourist police officials, 6 vehicles, 2 platoons elite force (50 Jawan each) are also in place for any emergency situation " the SSP said.

He maintained during the three days of Eid-ul-Fitr DPO Mansehra also banned the vehicle challan on minor traffic violations like the previous year. Arif Javed while replying to a question said that Manshera to Kaghan road is clear and traffic flow was smooth during the three days of Eid ul Fitr while traffic between Kaghan to Naran was slow but continuous.

He said all police officials including District Police Officer (DPO), SSP, SP, 6 DSP's, Elite Force, FRP and Tourists police are in the field to maintain law and order situation for tourists in 200-kilometer area from Mansehra to Babusar Top.

Amjad Ali Bhatti a tourist from Lahore while talking to APP said that from last four years I am visiting Kaghan, Naran, Galyat and Kashmir regularly and the behavior of Hazara police particularly traffic police have changed in drastic manners.They have properly managed the traffic flow and we did not face any difficulty till reaching Naran and Babusar Top as compared to the previous years.

Syed Noman Shah a local journalist who has visited Naran and Shogran, while talking to APP appreciated the role of Mansehra police and administration for managing safe travel. He said that tourists are very happy with the positive behavior of the traffic police.

Keeping in view of heavy rain forecast, Traffic police also issued the travel advisory for the tourists that in case of heavy rain or land sliding they must stay at a safe place and make a phone call to the police or rescue 1122. It was further guided to the tourists that be aware of the River Kunhar and glaciers, avoid these place while taking selfies and during the heavy rain as glaciers can also move or can collapse.

It was suggested to the tourists that before visiting Naran, Kaghan and Shogran must have an advance booking of hotels as the accommodation capacity of these areas is less than the inflow of the tourists and bring warm clothes as nowadays the temperature in Naran remains between 4-8 degree centigrade.
