SC Sets Up Committee To Ensure Issuance Of CNICs To Transgender Persons

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 19th Jun, 2018 ) :The Supreme Court of Pakistan Sunday set up a special committee to ensure issuance of Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) to transgender persons within the stipulated time.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar toook the decision while hearing a suo motu notice case over non-issuance of CNICs to the transgenders at the Supreme Court's Lahore Registry.
The apex court said that any sort of maltreatment with transgender persons would not be tolerated.
