DUBAI, (Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2018) The Strategy and Future Department of the General Authority for Sports, GAS, held the third preparatory meeting on the launch of its "Future Sports Foresight Study."
Rashid Ibrahim Al Mutawa, Director of the Department, said that the study aims to answer the government’s aspirations, in line with the GAS’s latest developments, as well as create a bright future for Emirati sports, invest in all opportunities, face future challenges, and adopt plans to achieve the organisation’s strategic long-term vision.
Al Mutawa stated that the study was prepared to ensure its success, and a related project has been planned under specific timelines. The GAS and its strategic team will begin to hold meetings with several sporting federations that were carefully chosen through strict standards, to meet the GAS’s goal to achieve the targets of the national indicator to win Olympic medals, he added.
He explained that the project will have a positive impact on national sporting organisations that will extend to the entire community, through predicting future scenarios and the mechanism of dealing with them in a scientific way, which will achieve the GAS’s desired results. A guide that will also be created, which will explain the organisation’s work and key tools and will be used in predicting the future, he further added.
The project will identify key local, regional and international trends and determine the study’s impact and uncertainty, in line with the country’s ambitions while providing international benchmarking for the relevant indicator, Al Mutawa said in conclusion.
