PTI to review status of controversial tickets within a couple of days

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 18th Jun, 2018 ) :Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Spokesman Fawad Chaudhry informed media Monday that the review of the controversial tickets to candidates from some Constituencies across the country would be completed within a couple of days.

Addressing a press conference here, the PTI spokesman said PTI had issued tickets on merit, however there were some constituencies where workers had reservations and had been protesting against issuance of tickets to some candidates.

The party would complete the review of those tickets within a couple of days, he informed the journalists.

He said PTI would field its own candidates all across the country, rejecting any seat adjustment and political coalition with any party in 2018 general election.

He urged the caretaker government to ensure transparency in upcoming elections by ensuring fair and transparent administrative system all across the country.

Fawad also lamented slow pace in the hearing of cases related to former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and alleged that delaying tactics were being used by the former PM in this regard.

He alleged that conspiracies were being hatched to degrade PTI Chairman Imran Khan, arguing that when the conspirators' plan failed to get anything by using Imran's former wife Reham Khan, they have now resorted to other tactics by bringing into front the former Chief Justice of Paksitan, Iftikhar chaurdhry.

He said several cases were sent to National Accountability Bureau (NAB) against Iftikhar Chaurhry and his son, however the accountability court had not started hearing these cases. He urged NAB to start proceedings of these cases on priority basis as had been done in Asghar Khan case.

He blamed that PML(N) media cells was carrying out an organized campaign against PTI by making fake videos to degrade its leadership.

He urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice, urging for following the code of conduct.
