Former PM Zafarullah Jamali joins PTI

Jamali had resigned from his National Assembly seat on May 16

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 7th June, 2018) Former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Mir Zafarullah Jamali has announced to join Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) along with his companions.

Jamali had resigned from his National Assembly seat on May 16 and had demanded then prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and opposition leader Khurshid Shah to resign as well.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly after submitting his resignation, former prime minister and PMLN leader Jamali said that the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman was appointed by the prime minister and opposition leader. He said that if the prime minister and opposition leader are unhappy with NAB chairman's performance, than they should resign as the NAB chief was appointed after their mutual consultation.

He also criticized the Federal government over its failure to allocate adequate resources for Balochistan in the federal budget. Jamali also blamed the NA speaker for failing to stop demonizing of state institutions in Parliament.

Jamali, who hails from Balochistan's Jaffarabad district, had won as an independent candidate from his native area Dera Murad Jamali in 2013 general elections and joined PMLN after winning the election.

Jamali has been in politics for several decades. He served as the chief minister of Balochistan from 1996 to 1997. He also served as prime minister from 2002 to 2004. He had been a part of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), PMLN and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) during his political life.

However, now he has announced to join PTI.
