SHARJAH, (Pakistan Point News - 05th Jun, 2018) The Deanship of Male Students’ Affairs at the University of Sharjah, UoS, has organised a ceremony to honour and award distinguished students from the Spring 2017-2018 graduating class across all of the university’s colleges, including Bachelor’s, Master’s, and PhD level students.
Professor Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Chancellor of the UoS, attended the ceremony along with the vice chancellors, departments’ deans and heads, and the distinguished students and their families.
In his welcome address, Al Naimiy congratulated the students, stating that the university seeks their outstanding performance as an indication and symbol of its development and renowned status among other universities locally and internationally.
He added that their performance is one of the main factors contributing to the UoS following and realising the mission that H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of UoS, had put in place upon establishing the university. The goal of realising this mission, the Chancellor said, has become a common goal for the entire university community, especially among its faculty members who work tirelessly to educate and increase the number of distinguished students.
Al Naimiy also addressed the increasing nationwide demand for outstanding graduates who contribute innovative ideas and skills to national development projects. He added that their efforts in planning, designing and working on development goals enable the country to advance and develop to the standard to which it aspires. He reassured the graduates that the UoS will always welcome them and support them in all scientific and academic aspects.
