NA Passes Bill To Regulate Hindu Marriages

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -26th Sep,2016) : The National Assembly on Monday unanimously passed the bill for regulating and termination of marriages among Hindu families. The bill was tabled in the House by Minister for Human Rights Kamran Michael.
According to the statement of objects and reasons of the bill, the said Act has also been applied to irretrievable breakdown of marriages among Hindus.
It is also applicable to all citizens of Pakistan, who are Hindu by religion in any of its forms.
The bill provides for punishment of upto three months imprisonment and a fine of upto Rs 1,000 or both on violation of this Act. The House also passed another four government bills, including Islamabad High Court (Amendment) Bill, 2016; The Civil Courts (Amendment) Bill, 2016; The Benami Transactions (Prohibition) Bill, 2016 and The Companies (Appointment of Legal Advisers) (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
