Tehreek-e-Labbaik to get major vote bank in upcoming elections: Reports

PTI expected to stand first in Punjab while PMLN will be at third position

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 21st May, 2018) The reports of three different agencies, including two civil and secret agencies, suggest that religio-political party Tehreek-e-Labbaik Ya Rasool Allah (TLYR) will get a major vote bank in the general elections, leaving behind other religious political parties.

The reports said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) is on the third number in Punjab, sixth in Sindh and Balochistan while on fourth in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In the current political situation, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ranks first in Punjab, independent candidates second, PMLN third, Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) fourth and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) is at fifth number.

The newly revived Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) can hardly get two seats in Punjab while TLYR is expected to get a majority.

The reasons behind decrease in popularity of PMLN include trying to amend the Khatm-e-Nabuwwat law, Nawaz Sharif’s statements against state and national institutions, and revealing of his corruption in the courts.

According to reports, the rise in load shedding is also causing a decrease in the popularity while strong political families and groups quitting the party have also taken them to the third position. PMLN is shattered in all the districts of Punjab except three districts. Several political aides from these districts can also leave the party after May 31.

No big political family or group from South Punjab is with PMLN anymore.

The reports further state that PPP stands first in Sindh, Muttahida Qaumi Movement and Pak Sarzameen Party second or third while PTI will be fourth, Functional League fifth and PMLN will be on sixth number. MQM can still get some seats in Sindh.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, PTI is first, Awami National Party (ANP) second, MMA third, PMLN fourth while PPP can be at fifth position.

None of the political parties will be able to get a majority in Balochistan. The PMLN will also not be able to get more than two to three seats from Balochistan.
