Says we still have to win the final battle in war against terrorism
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 17th May, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and Federal Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal has said that a coward shot at him on May 6.
“This war continues, we still have to win the final battle,” he said.
The minister said that our people are tired of witnessing terror and destruction.
Talking here on Thursday, Iqbal said that we spent many years as a victim of terrorism and extremism.
Our nation is tired of witnessing terrorism, and added that we do not want give such Pakistan to our generations where there is terrorism and extremism.
The interior minister further said that the PMLN government has defeated the terrorists. He said that we need unity to win the war against terrorism.
Earlier, the federal cabinet warmly welcomed the interior minister over his arrival to the meeting. The meeting of federal cabinet was held under Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday when the members welcomed him avidly.
The cabinet members wished a long life and health for the minister.
Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal was injured when an accused shot at him while he was at a corner meeting in Narowal on May 6. According to senior police officials, the accused, aged between 20 to 22 years, opened firing on the interior minister. The attacker, Abid Hussain, shot at the interior minister from a distance of 15 yards as he was leaving the corner meeting.
Iqbal received a bullet on his right arm and was moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Lahore's Services Hospital from where he was discharged on Monday.
