PMLN’s Mir Zafarullah Jamali announces to resign from National Assembly

Also demands prime minister and opposition leader to resign over NAB chairman issue

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 16th May, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Mir Zafarullah Jamali has announced to resign from his National Assembly seat.

According to media reports, after announcing to resign from the NA seat, Jamali has also demanded Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi and Opposition Leader Khurshid Shah to resign.

Expressing his views in the National Assembly, former prime minister and PMLN leader Jamali said that the chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) was appointed by the prime minister and opposition leader.

The prime minister and opposition leader should resign if the government is not satisfied with the performance of NAB chairman. He further said that institutions are being targeted and lies were told in the Assembly.

Jamali had won as an independent candidate from his native area Dera Murad Jamali in 2013 general elections and joined PMLN after winning the election.

Jamali has been in politics for several decades. He was the chief minister of Balochistan from 1996 to 1997. He also served as prime minister from 2002 to 2004. He had been a part of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), PMLN and Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PMLQ) during his political life.

However, now he has announced to resign over the issue of NAB chairman and has also demanded the prime minister and opposition leader to resign.
