PMLN leader Sheikh Waqas comes out against Nawaz Sharif

Says a leader’s job is not to cry but to fight for our right

Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 11th May, 2018) Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader Sheikh Waqas Akram has said that a leader’s job is not to cry, but to fight for our rights.

PMLN leader Sheikh Waqas made a tweet on Friday, saying, “The voter can only cast vote. It is leader’s job to ensure sanctity of vote. A leader’s job is not to cry but to fight for our rights. Our leaders don’t get over their own issues. These issues are not because of the people but they themselves are responsible for this. Why do they put a gun on our shoulder?”

Some people criticized him for his tweet saying why is he saying this now, after enjoying power for five years.

The Supreme Court had disqualified PMLN leader Nawaz Sharif for life and he was removed as the prime minister following Panama papers Leaks.

Since then, Nawaz Sharif has built an anti-judiciary and anti-establishment narrative. He has been raising the slogan of ‘Vote ko izzat do’ (Respect vote). The supporters of Nawaz Sharif liked the slogan while the opponents condemned it saying if Nawaz Sharif talks about giving respect to the vote, he should also respect the voter.
