NH&MP Distributes Awards Among Its 155 Officials

ISLAMABAD, May 9 (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 9th May, 2018 ) :The National Highway and Motorway Police Wednesday distributed awards among its 155 officials in recognition of their efforts for implementation of road safety regime.
The annual awards ceremony of the department was held here in the NH& MP Driving Licensing Authority's Hameed Shakeel Shaheed Auditorium, said a press release. Former Inspector General of Police�and Federal Secretary Iftikhar Rashid addressing the ceremony as the chief guest said that Motorway Police had become a symbol of pride for the country's nation.
Iftikhar said the department's officers had been able to demonstrate unprecedented hard work and devotion to the department's core values of integrity, courtesy, help and rule of law. He said, "The selfless service to the citizens has made all of us very proud." He praised the role of department for creating awareness among common road users aimed at reducing the number of accidents adding international organizations had declared NH&MP as corruption free and role model for the other government institutions.
On the occasion, the Inspector General, NH&MP, Dr. Syed Kaleem Imam said the exceptional performance of the department was a result of officers' integrity, courtesy and enthusiastic help to travelers in distress.
He said NH&MP is service oriented force and provision of prompt help to the distressed road users was the hallmark of the department.� He said the department had adopted different methods including lectures at educational institutions, factories and bus stands, Radio/TV programs, workshops, walks, rallies and seminars on road safety in many cities of the couutry to sensitize the road users for their safety.
He said that these initiatives were helping in reducing the accident rates and citizens were also observing road discipline adding that best medical policy would be launched soon for the department's employees and their families.
Kaleem Imam presented a shield to the former IG Iftikhar Rashid.� Among others, the ceremony was attended by Deputy Inspector General Headquarters (DIGHQs) Ishfaq Ahmad, DIG Operations Abbas Ahsan, Additional IG Fazal-e-Hamid, Senior Superintendent of Police HQs Adeel Shazad, City Police Officer NH&MP Driving Licensing Authority Inam Elahi and other senior officials.
