Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 8th May, 2018) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has ordered all the tv channels to air Azaan five times a day and banned all game shows during Ramzan.

During the hearing of the case regarding code of conduct of morning shows and Ramzan transmissions, IHC judge Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui issued orders for all the TV channels to broadcast Azaan prayer five times a day.

The representatives of regulatory bodies of media, including Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) director general were present in the hearing. The PEMRA DG said that the authority is issuing a guideline to all the channels in this regard.

The IHC further banned any Neelam Ghar (game show) or circus show in Ramzan. Justice Siddiqui said that they would not let anyone make fun of the religion. He said that it is state’s responsibility to protect Islamic identity and ideology.

The court told Pakistan Broadcasters Association (PBA) lawyer that no games will be played this Ramzan.

Earlier, TV channels used to hold special Ramzan transmissions and game shows during the holy month. However, the IHC has banned all such transmissions for this Ramzan.
