Fawad Chaudhry says party to challenge Interior Minister’s Iqama in IHC
Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 4th May, 2018) After getting former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former foreign minister Khawaja Asif disqualified by the Supreme Court, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) is gearing up to get Interior Minister Ahsan Iqbal disqualified as well.
The PTI has decided to start a campaign against the interior minister. This decision was taken by PTI chairman Imran Khan in a party meeting held in Islamabad.
PTI’s Information Secretary Fawad Chaudhry has said that Iqbal has himself confessed to holding an Iqama which he claims was dismissed. Chaudhry said that Iqbal claimed that the Iqama was not obtained through employment while Iqamas are only issued on employment.
“This is why we have decided to challenge his Iqama in Islamabad High Court (IHC),” he said.
The PTI information secretary said that as per law, whoever takes part in elections has to display all the facts about him so the voters completely know their candidate. However, he hid his Iqama and this will be the reason for his disqualification.
