Asif was disqualified for being an employee to a foreign firm and holding an Iqama
Lahore (Pakistan Point News – 2nd May, 2018) Former foreign minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) senior leader Khawaja Asif has challenged Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision disqualifying him in the Supreme Court (SC).
The IHC disqualified Asif under Article 62-1(f) of the Constitution for being an employee to a foreign firm and holding an Iqama.
However, the PMLN leader has challenged the IHC verdict in the Supreme Court. Asif has pleaded in his petition that he had declared his bank accounts and Iqama before the writ was filed.
He said that he failed to show his bank accounts without any intention; that is why, the IHC’s decision should be annulled.
