Islamabad, (Pakistan Point News - 27th Apr, 2018) : The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Friday claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government presented the Federal budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 to influence the coming general elections. Talking to a private tv channel after the budget speech by Finance Minister Miftah Islamil in the National Assembly, PTI spokesman Fawad Chaudhry said the budget presented by the incumbent government has no value in the eyes of the law.

He said as per Article 86 of the Constitution, the government should have presented a budget for four months until a new government comes into power. Slamming PML-N leaders, Chaudhry said they changed their narrative wherever their interests clashed. He said PTI chief Imran Khan will highlight party's economic priorities during a public gathering in Lahore. The newly-appointed finance minister Miftah Ismail unveiled the federal budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 with a total outlay of Rs 5.66 trillion as against Rs4.75 trillion for the outgoing year amid a strong protest by the opposition parties. Opposition leader in the National Assembly Syed Khursheed Shah slammed the govt for presenting the budget for a year despite the fact that its tenure is ending next month. He said the government has not right to present the budget.
