Khawaja Asif to challenge IHC decision in Supreme Court

Asif had declared all his assets since 1991 to the Election Commission, including foreign accounts and Iqama

Islamabad (Pakistan Point News – 26th Apr, 2018) Veteran journalist Hamid Mir has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) leader and foreign minister Khawaja Asif has decided to challenge Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) decision disqualifying him in the Supreme Court.

He said that Asif has declared all his assets since 1991, including foreign accounts and Iqama, to the Election Commission.

Talking to a private tv channel, Mir said that he has talked to Khawaja Asif after the IHC verdict.

“Asif was calm and satisfied. The foreign minister said that he himself told that he has an Iqama which has been shown to the Election Commission. He said that he would challenge the IHC decision in Supreme Court. He had declared Iqama in the nomination papers submitted to the Election Commission,” Mir said.
