SC Dismisses Bail Plea Of Regional Manager Marketing NFC

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -21st Sept,2016) : The Supreme Court on Wednesday dismissed bail plea of Regional Manager Marketing National Fertilizer Company (NFC) Muhammad Farooq. The court also issued notices to respondents over three applications filed by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking cancellation of bail.
The three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Amir Hani Muslim heard the case. During the course of proceedings, the NAB officials told the court that as many as 13 people caused Rs 210 million loss to national exchanger.
He said that Rs 20 million were recovered from the accused while the accused promised to pay Rs 180 million through plea bargain.
The NAB official pleaded the court to dismiss bails of three accused so that NAB could complete its investigation in the case.
On which the court issued notices to respondents. The counsel for arrested Regional Manager Farooq informed the court that his client was accused of negligence while other 12 nominated accused were released on bail. He said that two employees of MCB Bank were also involved in the scam. The court dismissed bail plea on NAB request. APP/amk/rn � 21:11/21:17/21:17
