Chitral, (Pakistan Point News - 22nd Apr, 2018) : Ambassador of Switzerland to Pakistan, Thomas Kolly inaugurated the newly constructed 800KV micro hydro powerhouse by Aga Khan Rural Support Program (AKRSP) with financial assistance of Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) at Yarkhun Valley here on Sunday. Speaking as chief guest at the inaugural ceremony, Ambassador Thomas Kolly highly appreciated local people and AKRSP for their hard work and passion.
He said that the power house would bring positive changes in socio economics condition of area people and would solve the problem of low voltage of electricity. The ceremony was also attended by Deputy Country Head of SDC Deniel Angeloguseppe, Senior Program Officer SDC Sana Omar, Muzafarud Din General Manager AKRSP, Akhtar Iqbal Chief Executive Aga Khan Foundation and Program Manager AKRSP Engr. Sardar Ayub. The ceremony enthralled with the folk music presented by local artists. People of Yarkhun valley thanked for cooperation of AKRSP and SDC and demanded more powerhouses for the area.
