Shipping Activity At Port Qasim

KARACHI, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -21st Sept,2016) : Five ships C.V Maersk Hartford, C.V CMA CGM Uruguay, M.V Johar Express, M.T SC Guan Zhou and M.T Gas Lion scheduled to load/offload container, cement, chemicals and LPG were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, multi-purpose Terminal, Engro Vopak Terminal and SSGC Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, three more ships C.V Maersk Steonica, M.T Ridge Bury Rose Mary and M.T Tomson Gas with container, diesel oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 60% on Tuesday where a total of nine berths were engaged by ships namely C.V Maersk Hartford, C.V CMA CGM Uruguay, M.V Johar Express, M.V Tian Fu, M.V KSL Chaoyang, M.T Bunga Angsana, M.T Um Bab, M.T Gaslion, and M.T SC Guan Zhou to load/offload containers, general cargo, palm oil LNG, LPG and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.

Cargo handling operation was carried out smoothly at the port on Tuesday where cargo volume of 105,360 tonnes, comprising 90,824 tonnes import cargo and 14,536 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 3,301 containers (TEUs)(2,668 imports TUEs & 633 TUEs exports) was handled during last 24 hours.

Two ships container vessel Maersk Hartford and chemicals carrier SC Guan Zhou sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while three more ships, LNG carrier Umm Bab, General cargo carrier KSL Chaoyang and LPG ship Gas Lion are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

Five ships C.V Maersk Stepnica, M.V Favourisation, M.T Liberty-N, M.T Tomson Gas and M.T Ridge Bury Rose Mary containers project cargo LPG and diesel oil are expected to take berths at QICT, ME-2, EVTL, SSGC and FOTCO respectively on Wednesday. While, another ship C.V CMA CGM Maupasant is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Thursday.
