Real Madrid and CR Flamengo have sent out a warning to their rivals in the 8th Hamdan Bin Mohammed U16 International Football Championship with emphatic wins in their opening matches at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club

DUBAI (Pakistan Point News - 12th Apr, 2018 ) Real Madrid and CR Flamengo have sent out a warning to their rivals in the 8th Hamdan Bin Mohammed U16 International Football Championship with emphatic wins in their opening matches at the Dubai Police Officers’ Club. Madrid, making their third appearance in the tournament after finishing runners-up in 2015 and third in the following year, opened their Group B campaign with a 4-0 win over Shabab Al Ahli Dubai FC, while Flamengo, the Brazil U16 champions, defeated Al Wasl 5-1 in their Group A opener, scoring all their five goals inside the first 28 minutes of the match.

Wasl’s Bur Dubai rivals Al Nasr, however, made a much better start to their campaign, holding the 2016 finalist Borussia Dortmund of Germany to a goalless draw in the second Group B match, while Egypt’s Al Ahly suffered a heart-breaking 2-1 loss in their Group A opener against PSV Eindhoven, the Dutch getting the winner in the third minute of added time. Shabab Al Ahli Dubai did well to deny their rivals in the opening half-hour, but the floodgates opened once Peter Federico González Carmona managed to find the back of the net in the 36th minute.

Two minutes from the break, Paulo Lubamba added a second for Real and Carles Llario Mascardo made it 3-0 five minutes into the second session. Pablo Suarez Contioso then came off the bench to complete the tally five minutes from time. Unlike Real, Flamengo came galloping out of the gates with Reinier Jesus Carvalho booting home the opener in the 3rd minute. Pedro Arthur Bitencourt Machado then made it 2-0 in the 12th minute before Reinier got his second of the match seven minutes later.

Pedro also got his second in the 28th minute, two minutes after Lazaro Vinicius Marques had drilled in Flamengo’s fourth of the match. Two minutes from time, Ahmad Yousuf Hassan Alrajab Al Nuami managed to pull one back for Wasl. Fode Fofana, meanwhile, struck late in the third minute of injury time to help PSV steal three points against Ahly. The Egyptians had earlier taken the lead through Moatasem Mohammed Abdelhamid Mohammed in the 27th minute, but Dylan Hopman equalised for the Dutch a minute later.
