Divisional Peace Committee Meets

SARGODHA, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -19th Sept,2016) : Commissioner Nadeem Mehboob on Monday stressed the need for promoting religious harmony to maintain peace during Moharram-ul-Haraam. Addressing the participants in the Divisional Peace Committee meeting here, he lauded the valuable role of Ulema for maintaining peace and urged them to forge unity among their ranks as it was imperative for making the arrangements successful.
He said that it was the dire need of hour to foil nefarious designs of anti-state elements, adding that sentiments of love and fraternity should be promoted among sects. The commissioner said that the administration of the four districts had been directed for carrying out cleanliness of Muharram procession routes, arrangements for lighting and repair of roads.
He said that stringent security arrangements would be made for peaceful observance of the event. The meeting was attended by RPO Zulfiqar Hameed, DPO Sohail Ch, DCO Danish Afzaal, various Ulema, while DCOs and DPOs of Khushab, Mianwali and Bhakhar and other officials concerned participated in the meeting through videolink.
The RPO appreciated the cooperation of clerics, and said that they had been playing remarkable role for maintaining religious harmony, love and brotherhood. He said that elaborated security arrangements had been made for the month which could only be made successful with the cooperation of Ulema and civil society.
