Philadelphia, (Pakistan Point News – 17th September, 2016) : 2 police officers and 4 civilians were injured on Friday during a shooting incident in Philadelphia. According to the police, the suspect was later killed by the firing of responding officers. Philadelphia Police Commissioner Richard Ross said that Sergeant Sylvia Young, a 19-year veteran of the department, was shot at least 8 times by a gunman coming towards her as she sat in her vehicle late at night.
Ross told a news conference that attacker came towards her and opened fire without saying anything and the suspect fired about 15 rounds into Young´s vehicle. Nearby officers heard the gunshots and began pursuing the suspect on foot. The suspect fired shots into a tavern, striking a security guard in the leg during the chase, Ross added more. He then used a woman from the bar as a shield before shooting her. attacker later opened fired on a car, seriously wounding a man and woman. The shooter was killed during the gun fight when the he exchanged gunfire with police in an alley, wounding a University of Pennsylvania police officer. Ross said that they have a lot of unanswered questions regarding the incident. Richard Ross said that the officer shot in the alley was expected to survive and the conditions of the wounded civilians was not immediately clear.
