LAHORE(Pakistan Point News - 28th Mar, 2018 ) Pakistani actress Mahira Khan is again the talk of the town for her smoking habits as she was ‘caught smoking’ yet again in a video leaked on social media on Tuesday.
The actress, on one hand, in her recent interview with BBC HARDtalk says, “I am a reflection of my country” while on the other hand, she tarnishes the very same reflection with such pictures and videos.
This is not the first time the Pakistani heartthrob is being trolled for smoking. Previously, in September last year, her pictures with Bollywood actor Ranbir Kapoor got viral where Mahira was seen sharing a smoke with him somewhere in New York city of America.
Perhaps, Mahira just does not like to stay out of news and here we have it again, another smoking video. Although she tries hiding the smoke when she realized she was being filmed but little could she help to prevent it go viral and now social media police is just not ready to forgive her.

However, some are seeing Mahira’s smoking as an issue of feminism and are talking about the prejudice with which women are treated for such habits in our country.
Nonetheless, it is a matter of personal choice whether one smokes or not and even if they do, nobody should have any concerns about it as long as the act is not harming anyone. It’s not just the showbiz, smoking among girls is on the rise in the country and nothing is being done to reverse this course.
But since the actress is considered a role model for Pakistani society, she is expected to be an ideal in every respect. In such a case, it does not matter how "violated" she felt when her pictures with Ranbir surfaced in the media. There is no denying the fact that celebrities are public property and people simply can’t get over their “personal down time moment” when they are photographed.
As the actress herself says, "…obviously there was an uproar, because here I was, someone who is extremely loved in Pakistan, and they sort of keep me up on this pedestal you know, they treat me with a lot of love and a lot of respect. And there are certain things I didn't realize that they don't want to see me do.”
Yes we all love Mahira and we expect her to be a true reflection of our society and keep the standards high for herself and the country!
