SEOUL, (APP - UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News - 27th Mar, 2018 ) :Seoul city government said Tuesday it is mulling over restricting the operation of outdated diesel cars inside the metropolitan city when fine dust levels are serious.
The city unveiled the idea during a debate forum on ways to reduce fine dust.
According to the plan as conceived, aged diesel cars will not be allowed to enter the capital city from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.
during days when the city government issues an alert against fine dust. A penalty of 100,000 won (US$93.40) will be slapped on violators. The plan, if implemented, is expected to influence up to about 3.8 million diesel cars across the nation with registrations made before September 2009.
Fine dust that flies in mostly from China in the spring every year is a big headache to the country.
