Performing Trainee SIs Meet CM

LAHORE, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -10th Sept,2016) : Male and female sub-inspectors who performed outstandingly during training at Police College Sahala and won honours met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif.
Talking to the new sub-inspectors, the Chief Minister said that they were a great asset of Punjab police and people have high expectations of them. He said that they have won this status with hard work and now they will have to play an active role for provision of justice to the people, redressal of grievances of the aggrieved and elimination of crime.
He said that after training the new officers will now have to prove their capabilities in the practical field. He said that 800 talented sub-inspectors are joining police force on merit and they will have to play their due role for maintaining peace, setting a crime-free society and improvement of Thana system.
He also asked them to play their role to restore the confidence of the people in police force. He stressed upon the new sub-inspectors to perform their duties efficiently to meet all challenges and fulfill the demands of justice as per their oath.
He assured them complete support of Punjab government and Punjab police in this regard. He said that joining of a fresh contingent of talented youth in police force will enhance its image. He advised them to complete their mission in the face of all challenges and difficulties.
He said that the new officers will have to come upto the expectations of the people and they will win respect in the society if they remained committed to their responsibilities.
Shehbaz Sharif further said that Punjab government was strictly implementing the policy of merit and transparency in all government departments.
The Chief Minister said he believes that merit is key to progress and prosperity. He said as is a result of merit policy of Punjab government children of poor families are also becoming police officers.
He said that Police College Sahala will be made the best training institution of the country. He said that police department should provide best facilities to those who come to this institution for training.
He also directed to consider training of probationer sub-inspectors in Turkey. He further directed that a strategy should be evolved in accordance with the modern demands regarding promotion of probationer sub-inspectors, career building and other matters.
Probationer sub-inspectors winning honours paid rich tributes to merit policy of Chief Minister Punjab and said that they had been imparted highest standard of training at Sahala. They also thanked the Chief Minister for inviting and encouraging them.
Probationer sub-inspector Karam Elahi said that had there not been merit policy, he would not have got job in police. Probationer sub-inspector Maryam Faiz said that she had no Safarish and got this status only due to merit policy.
Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, Member Provincial Assembly Jehangir Khanzada, Special Assistant Rana Maqbool Ahmed, Secretary Home, Acting Inspector General Police, Commandant Police Training College Sahala, DIG Training and concerned officials attended the meeting.
