Punjab govt committed to protect rights of minorities: Khalil Tahir Sandhu

Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Khalil Tahir Sandhu has ruled out the allegations of PPP's Jahan Ara that Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government has not provided justice and ignored the minorities of the province.

Lahore, (Pakistan Point News - 28th Feb, 2018) : Punjab Minister for Human Rights and Minorities Affairs (HR&MA) Khalil Tahir Sandhu has ruled out the allegations of PPP's Jahan Ara that Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) government has not provided justice and ignored the minorities of the province. In a clarification statement here on Wednesday, Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that the provincial government is committed to protect the rights of minorities as well as human rights throughout the province.

He said under the leadership of CM Punjab Shahbaz Sharif and Provincial Minister for Law Rana Sanaullah, number of concrete steps have been taken besides legislation and execution of special initiatives for the purpose of safety of minorities. The Minister HR&MA said that Punjab government has established Task force at provincial level and expanded network at District level to protect the Minorities. He said in the tenure of PML-N special attention paid to flood affected Minorities families of south Punjab, many MoUs signed with Universities, Baitul Mal, social Institutions, Tevta, Prison Department and with international social institutions for the betterment of Minorities.

Khalil Tahir Sandhu said that millions of rupees had been spent on the welfare of minorities and in the first time of the history a special grant paid to missionaries Hospital. Under the CM's leadership, the Punjab government done lot for development of province and to improve living standard of masses, that's why opponents are frightened, he added.
