Rs 23 Bn Interest Free Loans To Be Given To Farmers: MPA

DERA GHAZI KHAN, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -8th Sept,2016) : MPA Syed Abdul Aleem Shah Thursday said the government would extend interest free loans of Rs 23 billion to farmers in order to boost agriculture sector.
Addressing a draw ceremony for provision of agriculture tools on subsidized prices at DCO Office, here, he said that all matters related to provision of interest free loans would be settled within next three to four days, adding that discussion with a bank in this regard was in progress.
The MPA said that process of delivery of smartphones to farmers would commence very soon and the phones would enable farmers to remain updated about climate changes and new technology. He said the Punjab government was spending Rs 100 billions for welfare of farmers and promotion of agriculture sector.
EDO Agriculture informing about the draw said that a subsidy of over Rs 11 million was being given on the tools in 51 union councils of Dera Ghazi Khan.
