Ashiana Scheme Corruption Case: Former DG LDA sent on 11-day remand

The accountability court in Lahore on Thursday sent former Director General Lahore development authority Ahad Cheema on 11 days remand to NAB authorities in Ashiana Scheme Corruption Case

Lahore, (Pakistan Point News - 22nd Feb, 2018) : The accountability court in Lahore on Thursday sent former Director General Lahore development authority Ahad Cheema on 11 days remand to NAB authorities in Ashiana Scheme Corruption Case. The accused was brought in strict security in the accountability court. During the proceedings the prosecutor accused him that the former DG LDA had made assets of millions and his assets are beyond his known income sources.

The NAB sought a 14-day remand of the accused. However, the court agreed to a physical remand of 11 days. He also accused Cheema of illegal use of his powers. He asked for remand of the accused to further probe in the case. The court accepted the plea and sent Ahad Cheema on 11-days remand. The court also directed to present former DG on March 05. On Wednesday, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) arrested Lahore Development Authority (LDA) former director general Ahad Cheema in relation to the Ashiana Housing Scheme scandal.
