Lahore:(Pakistan Point News - 21st Feb, 2018) The Counter-terrorism Department (ctd) Foiled A Terror Bid And Arrested Three Alleged Terrorists Tuesday Night Following A Search Operation Carried Out Here In The City's Mughalpura Area,The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) foiled a terror bid and arrested three alleged terrorists Tuesday night following a search operation carried out here in the city's Mughalpura area, a spokesperson for the force said.

The three alleged terrorists are said to be part of Daesh, a militant outfit banned in Pakistan, the spokesperson noted. Explosive materials, weapons, and devices were also recovered from the detained suspects, the CTD official added. A CTD spokesperson informed media that the arrested terrorists were identified as Shoaib-ur-Rehman, Abdur Rehman and Amir Saleem. He further said that the terrorists were planning to carry out terrorist attacks on law enforcement agencies in Lahore.

The arrested terrorists were sifted to some undisclosed location for further interrogation. Meanwhile, at least 13 suspects were taken into custody during search operation conducted by police in different parts of Lahore on Tuesday night. According to details, the search operation was carried out in various localities of Badami Bagh, Larry Adda, Naulakha, Shafiqabad and Naseerabad areas of the city. Police carried out search operation in residential areas around churches and educational institutions in these localities while bus stands, hotels and hostels were also checked. The law enforcement agencies also used biometric device for the identification of the residents and arrested 13 suspects who failed to provide any identification document.
