28th Faculty Development Programme Concludes At HEC

ISLAMABAD, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News -8th Sept,2016) : As many as 30 faculty members from various higher education institutions across Pakistan attended the concluding ceremony of 28th Master Trainers-Faculty Development Programme here on Thursday.
The certificate distribution ceremony was organised by the Higher Education Commission in which Dr. Mukhtar Ahmed, Chairman HEC was chief guest while Dr. Arshad Ali, Executive Director HEC and Mrs.
Shaheen Khan, Adviser Learning Innovation were also present. The faculty development programme has been designed specifically for in-service teachers who spend this time in rigorous training. The programme includes Micro Teaching sessions to renovate teaching skills of the participants.
Besides intensive training modules, general topics were strategically inter-mingled with regular course modules. Recreational and study trips were also arranged for the participants. Sharing their experiences, the faculty members said that the programme provided them with a highly rich experience, as it provided them an opportunity to meet people from different parts of Pakistan and witness a high level of harmony and unity.
They said that they learnt a lot about theoretical research methodology, need for critical thinking, and how to plan a programme with HEC funding. Speaking at the occasion, the Chairman said that teachers are assets for any nation and they are responsible for shaping the thought-process.
He urged the faculty members to spread hope among their students and teach their students the importance of tolerance in life. "Different segments of our society need integration and teachers have a very important role to play in that context.
Remember that your students should not only excel in their respective disciplines but they should also become good human beings," he stressed while advising the teachers to disseminate best practices of learning to their students.
