Ishaq Dar gets green signal from ECP to contest Senate elections

Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given the green signal to former finance minister Ishaq Dar for contest the upcoming Senate elections.

ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 17th Feb, 2018) : Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has given the green signal to former finance minister Ishaq Dar for contest the upcoming Senate elections. According to details, the objections filed on Dar’s nomination papers were rejected by the commission. It is pertinent to mention that ECP had dismissed his nomination papers because Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader failed to submit the certified declaration with the nomination papers.

Dar challenged the commission’s decision regarding the rejection of his nomination papers for the Senate elections. Ishaq Dar said in his plea that the Returning Officer dismissed his nomination papers while going against the facts, adding he submitted the application attached with all certified papers. Meanwhile, the election commission has given the green signal to Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s sister Saadia Abbasi for contesting the Senate elections.
