ISLAMABAD, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Feb, 2018) : Ameer, Jamaat e Islami, Pakistan, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that the Election Commission had full powers to hold fair, free and transparent elections at every level but it was neither exercising those powers nor ensuring the compliance of its own moral code of conduct. Talking to the media outside the parliament on Wednesday, he said that politics implied service of the humanity and was the work of the prophets of Allah.

But unfortunately, in Pakistan, cheating, fraud and falsehood were being given the name of politics. He said that the people swallowing public wealth under the cover of politics were dacoits and thieves and not politicians and they must be wiped out from the national polity. Sirajul Haq said that the use of wealth in the Senate elections was most shameful. He said that the political parties should see as to whom they were issuing tickets for Senate.

He said that the horse trading of the assembly members was going on openly and amounted to insult of the upper house. He said the Election Commission did not have any excuse of lacking powers to check corruption and horse trading but it did not have the courage to lay hands on the billionaire feudal lords and capitalists. The JI chief repeated his demand that all those name in the Panama leaks, Dubai leaks and London leaks and those swallowing huge bank balances should be debarred from contesting election till they were cleared by the courts.
