Juvenile jail football match gives hope to inmates

Karachi’s juvenile jail held a friendly football match between the inmates and members of a local football club, stirring passion for the sport among the inmates who have little to aspire for.

KARACHI, (Pakistan Point News - 14th Feb, 2018) : Karachi’s juvenile jail held a friendly football match between the inmates and members of a local football club, stirring passion for the sport among the inmates who have little to aspire for. The juvenile inmates’ football team faced Karachi’s Golimar football club team in a friendly match which was played with great enthusiasm from both sides. Despite the shortage of basic facilities, the host team gave a tough time to the visitors.

During the match, both teams managed to even the score, with penalty deciding the outcome of the match which went in favour of Golimar Club. Countless other jail inmates watched the match and supported and cheered for their teams. Speaking to Dunya news, one of the inmates said that such matches have not only boosted their passion for football but it has also motivated them to keep playing and become good citizens once they step outside the jail. Some said they never received an opportunity like this before which has given them some hope to do good after they serve their time. Minister of sports Sardar Muhammad Bux Mahar was the chief guest on the occasion and distributed trophies to both the teams.
