Men's cross-country sprint Johannes Klaebo of Norway won gold on his Olympic debut when he timed 3:05.
75 to win by 1.34sec ahead of Italy's Federico Pellegrino. Women's cross-country sprint Sweden's Stina Nilsson claimed her first Olympic title when the won ahead of Maiken Falla of Norway.
Men's speed skating 1500m The Netherlands maintained their immaculate speed-skating record with a Dutch double Kjeld Nuis stormed to gold ahead of compatriot Patrick Roest. Mixed curling Canada's Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris celebrated excitedly after they hammered Switzerland 10-3 to take the inaugural Olympic mixed doubles.
Women's short-track skating 500m Home favourite Choi Min-jeong was disqualified for interference as Italy's Arianna Fontana took the honours.
