Zainab's alleged murderer handed over to police on three-day physical remand

Alleged rapist and murderer of seven-year-old Zainab, Imran Ali has been handed over to police on a three-day physical remand by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Tuesday.

KASUR, (Pakistan Point News - 06th Feb, 2018) : Alleged rapist and murderer of seven-year-old Zainab, Imran Ali has been handed over to police on a three-day physical remand by Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) Tuesday. According to details, the suspect has also been named in seven more cases of the same nature. Earlier, Supreme Court had issued notices to specific media persons to appear at Lahore Registry by 10.00 am, with particular reference to the proceedings of Zainab murder case.

The media persons, who have been summoned in-person, included Hameed Haroon, Shakeel ur Rehman, Ms Rameeza, Fahad Hussain, I A Rehman, Mujeeb ur Rehman Shami, Kamran Khan, Kashif Abbasi, Hamid Mir, Mian Amir Mehmood (BPA), Sarmad Ali ( APNS) Zia Shahid (CPNE). Chief Justice, while taking notice of the tv show, had summoned Shahid Masood, who pointed out that Imran Ali, the accused in Zainab murder’s case, allegedly had 37 bank accounts besides a network.

It is to be mentioned here that Zainab was assaulted and her body thrown in a garbage dump in the city of Kasur early this month. The guardians complained upon return that late Zainab had gone missing at least five days ago and the police did not cooperate with the relatives, who were looking for the missing minor. Zainab had marks of torture on nose, neck, and other parts of the body – according to the autopsy. The samples collected from her clothes and body were sent to forensic laboratory. Two people were killed in Kasur the day after Zainab’s body was recovered when police fired at hundreds of angry protesters, who said negligence on the part of the authorities was behind the repeated killings.
